Dear Bhiku, I worked as an art-designer in Weavers' Service Centre (Govt of India) then near Bayababa Matha, now in Saheednagar. I was in BBSR from 1980 to 1988, till I got transferred to Meerut in U.P. We wept that day. I stayed in Saheednagar always, in three places in rented houses. I received OLKA award for painting in 1988 and been invited to OLKA art camp in 2008 January. During my stay I discovered the lost genre of Bomokoi Sari and that became my lifetime contribution to my country. There was no history of it even, which I had to compile in 4 years, from 1982 to 1986. I brought Binod Maharana and a few other master craftsmen to National limelight during the Festivals of India. I had friends like Dr Dinanath Pathy, Jagadish Kanungo, Asit Mukherjee and Shiba Panigrahi. My junior friends like Ramahari Jena, Manas Jena and Baladebprasad Maharatha are still in loving bonds with me. My only daughter studied in Ruchika school where you might still see my small seascape with Indu-mousi (Inderjit Khurana). I regularly made advertising and packaging designs for Surya TV + Marines. Kalinga Marines, Kalinga Cement, Chilika Pharmaceuticals etc and had a deep friendly relation with them. In fact, me and my family claimed ourselves to be 90% Oriya that time. So you can understand that my 8 years stay was so eventful and nostalgic now. I am 55 years now. I spent my prime time just after my marriage in Orissa. I love and miss my Orissa with all sweet and sour memories.
Love and all the best.
