ok
I liked all your creations. I would suggest that you should prefer using a dark brown tone for painting rocks in your paintings.
Here are two paintings that I have done recently. I think they are ok...but I think maybe something is missing and maybe too many dark areas? What do you think....

Hi Joe,

Thanks a lot for sharing your paintings here. I loved both of them but yeah as u said I also felt that you should have used a lighter color tone in your second painting "Barnova Monastery corrected.jpg". but both of them are still looking amazing. Have you used some other medium too in your first painting. I felt so about the white highlights. But Its looking AMAZING!! Great job!

Aprajita

Hi Aprajita
Thank you for taking the time to look at my paintings. You confirm my thinking on Barnova Monastery....I was trying to get that dark dramatic look but I went too far with the color. I will probably try this again. I love this particular view of that monastery with the sun rising there in the east...it is a wonderful scene. I will try it again soon I think.
You are right about the second painting....very good eye you have! I guess I sort of cheated here with the titanium white and added it with a dry brush in places where the wooden boards are. Thanks for your encouragement, I really appreciate it. I have been working with acrylics lately, but will never abandon the watercolors. I am deciding now on what to do next with them. I want to send you another image of a painting I did several months ago of a small town in England. I look at it and think something is missing, or it just doesn't have enough interesting something or other in it. If you have time take a look and tell me what you think.
Thank you again and best regards
Joe

Thanks for taking my inputs so positively.
About this new painting that you have posted, I fell its a beautiful composition. Houses have come out to be very realistic. If we come to think of the improvements in same. I think if you can do something about the road, it might give it a life. And also if you can either fine-tune the Tree thass behind the first house, or may be add few leaves to it, that may help.

I appreciate your watercolor skills.... I'm at a very beginner's stage yet. Trying and learning, whenevr getting sometime :) So, I might not be very good at suggestions, so take it or leave it, is your decision :)

I have taken your suggestion to do something with the road and add leaves to the trees. I am really amazed at the difference in the painting!!! Wow......after I added the leaves I thought how foolish I was to be a "slave" to the photograph I used for the painting. There weren't any leaves on that tree so I painted as is. Also the road was very boring grey and looked flat. I added cerulean blue and some violet to the road....take a look at the difference! Thanks for your input on this, I really appreciate you taking the time to do that. I was not going to put this painting online but now I will use it on my website.
Thank you again
