in my opinion ,offcourse fame is important for good investment......
Agreed that fame is important.... but consider how many good paintings an artist can produce in his working lifetime those are worth the value (e.g. i read Picasso made something like 20000 art works) ... so ultimately that much number of paintings available to the investers. Now we are looking at a much much higher number of investors than any number of paintings produced by any single famed artist. What about the other investors? Will they settle for the no.2 famed artist an so on??? If yes, then what type of art this artist would have made which made him no.2 an so on?? So what is that element in art which clicks?? OR are there any other aspects which have no cocern with the genre???
Through eyes it should go till heart.
Through eyes it should go till heart.
Eyes only !
The quality of the painting to the eyes is more important than any other things. the fame of a person is generated in a long run of time. should the living artists be neglected for such a long period of time
Hi since this is an exciting discussion, let me point you to an article that could be of immense interest. http://investindianart.blogspot.com/2009/10/indian-art-alternative-...

Indian art as an investment is discussed very well in this article. It talks about why art is emerging as a new investment option
