Event Description

WITNESSING

Painting for me is the fine combination of the facts which I have got to know and the things which descends in me from the unknown. Hence my whole process of painting is more like a happening.
Anything that exists does carry certain content. ..So do my art works. The content always plays a soul part in my art works. The visuals are to enhance the content and beautify the composition. At times canvases become demanding and they take exactly what fulfills them spontaneously.
What is more important for me is subjectivity. …The subjectivity which is shaped with the relatively necessary objects. My own observation made me realize that sometimes the most ordinary becomes the most contemporary. And even the ordinary contains something of the eternal. That is the beauty of ordinariness. In fact, what matters most is the way how one looks at the things. I think my canvases show the known reality and the possible realities together. Sometimes they talk about the subtle potential that everyone carries by birth but not enough aware about it.
Truth is pure awareness. The innermost core of one’s being is witnessing, awareness, watchfulness. One needs to be an observer….and by doing unbiased and choice less observation; one develops the sense of witnessing. Whole of my process of creation and the outcome as the paintings stands for such a witnessing element in life.
Another aspect/factor that plays necessarily important role in my process is ‘INTUTION’. I do believe in the realm of intuition. ‘Intuition’ and ‘Sense of witnessing’ are the basic criteria that make me work. If intuition is the master, witnessing becomes the medium. And when witnessing happens, the intuition functions. For me, they are very much in the same vessel.
It is my observation that the intuitive approach makes the painting poetic. I feel experience and enjoy the intuitive spontaneity in the process of creation.
Finally, a painting becomes a statement, an expression of the known, unknown and knowable facts! Sometimes they become mysterious statements having universal appeal.
The more one looks into the canvases, the more one becomes aware of the fact that the paintings have got some taste of spirituality. They work on spiritual level too.
My work is a natural inclination towards the things which I have experienced and the things which I am experiencing. If one is aware enough, creativity can become a divine experience.
Creativity is divine ……and undoubtedly, I am experiencing the divine through painting!
